Affenthaler (Affen [germ.] = Monkeys [engl.], thal/tal = valley)
The former AVETHAL (because of the nuns in the monastery
there in the valley singing their AVE MARIA ...)
became AFFENTHAL which sounds similar
but obviously sells better ;-)
